Information Technology & Networks developments are today's global trends, and what IEEE has been tackling are no exceptions: Wireless LAN 802.11 specification standards and Wi-Fi Alliance(Wi-Fi). New products based on this standardized specification have created a new business model, and continue to evolve to meet the needs of the IT community.

Wireless LAN has proved itself high usability in the growing number of investing major companies on global basis. A series of this event is held in many countries across the world, and it is gaining popularity amongst many participating corporate users in Japan. It was our honor to present Dr. Amer A. Hassan, one of the leading members of Wi-Fi-Alliance of the United States, as a guest speaker for the past event held April 2004. In his speech Dr. Hassan discussed "Proposing of Wireless Security Business Model". Security remains one of the most important issues for Wireless LAN users today. Industry experts continuously commit their time and effort to security improvements, which will bring more assurance and network safety to corporate users.

The highlight of the Wi-FiPlanet Conference&Expo Japan2005, which will be held April 2005, is <The New Business Model of Development of Wireless LAN, and a New Revolution>.(<Introducing Wireless LAN, an Innovative Business Model, and its development>). We will strive to provide attendees with new insight how Wireless LAN802.11 technology can bring a "New Business model and Innovation". Today Wi-Fi Alliance is rapidly engaged in such projects as "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED"(PC card or any device in similar function), "3G Next Generation4G", and tie-up with "RFID"(Wireless ID Tag). The group also introduces a new-face product "Wireless IP Phone"(Wi-FiPhone), a creation generated by expanding possibilities of VoIP, and this new area of technology will be featured at this event.
Moreover, a guideline passed by Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, "The expanding of the bandwidth for 5GHz and Wireless LAN", will allow Japanese corporate users to follow the forerunning United States and to optimize the country's new system structure with potentially much larger capacity and higher speed. In the United States, this new system has long gained its popularity as "WiMAX", and our event will discuss as well the prospective interoperability of the two system, Wi-Fi LAN and WiMAX. Those evolving Wi-Fi LAN products will have a great effect not only on the expanding of today's corporate networks, but also on corporate users' investments in Wireless Networks Infrastructure. We will deliver such new business solutions available in the future.

This upcoming event will showcase products that structure new systems and networks, introducing their applicable options, technology for better security system, and many installation examples. We also bring together, within and outside Japan, the world-class vendors whose business structure conforms to the new era of Ubiquitous and Wireless Broadband. The experts will conduct hands-on demonstrations, sponsoring sessions, and many more.
Wi-FiPlanet is co-presenting the internationally diversed event with Jupitermedia Corporation, a leading organizer, responsible for making the enlightening 802.11 known globally, and that has sought close communication with local association groups. The Wi-FiPLANET will continue to evolve, and to make the "Innovative Wireless LAN" a sensational trend across the world.

We will look forward to your participation and your exhibit for the Wi-FiPlanet Conference&Expo Japan2005, and your support is greatly appreciated.
